Mary was sitting on the porch watching Peter clean up the boxes from all of the furniture. We sat outside and visited for a few minutes and then I had her come in and get ready for the day. We took a walk around the neighborhood and then we came home and I had her help me clean out her room and put things away.

We went on a walk at Fairmont park today. Mary liked it and we walked around the park a couple times. We even watched some of the skaters at the skate park. It was a pretty day. We'll have to go there again. They have a lot of benches and quite a few different paths to take. We saw these glasses at the house and both tried them on ;)

I was able to stay a little longer today. After Mary was ready, we went for a walk around the neighborhood and came back and had a snack and visited. I was telling her a bunch of stories. She laughed at some of them and that made her ask some questions. I like when she does that. :)

Peter wanted to go for a bike ride like the one he did on
Friday. We took the van up and dropped him off and then me and Mary took the
van down to Silver Lake and walked around the boardwalk. It was a pretty day
with the leaves starting to change color. We ran into some people that saw a
moose and some deer but we didn’t see any. It was a nice day. When we got back
to the house, Amie was putting together a desk that she got. I don’t believe
that she is only 10! I helped her a little bit and then Peter came home and
helped her finish put her room together.

We went to Sunnyside Park today and walked around. They have
a lot of baseball fields there. There wasn’t much to look at but it was a nice
walk, nice weather and fun birds. When we came back to the house, we sat
outside for a bit and had a drink. I think I need to find some pretty nature
hikes. We are going to Silver lake on Wednesday after we drop off Peter near
Brighton to go for a bike ride.

I’ll have to leave Mary’s around 11:15 on Friday’s. After
she was ready to go we went for a walk around the neighborhood. We had to come
back for a few minutes. I was collecting pine cones and putting them in the
sleeve of Mary’s sweater that I was carrying for her. She thought that was
funny. We came back and put those in a bowl and then left again and went on a
different route. I love Sugarhouse; it’s such a pretty place. She is lucky to
live in a place that is so close to the park and has nice streets for her to
walk.We saw this really pretty white cat with blue eyes! It's so pretty. It followed us for a little bit.

I came over today so Peter could go on a bike ride. He had a
great idea of having us drive him up Big Cottonwood canyon and dropping him off
and then have me and Mary go on a little hike. It was a great day for a bike
ride and a walk. There was a little bit of a breeze. Me and Mary tried to hike
up to Lake Mary, we took a couple of breaks and she wanted to go back down. We
should have gone to Silver Lake instead. Next time. I took a couple pictures but they didn’t turn
out very well.

After Mary was ready to go, we went for a walk around the
neighborhood. I wanted to take her for a walk around Sugarhouse Park but she
wanted to go around the neighborhood instead. She was telling me that it was
prettier ;) After we got back from our walk; we took a couple breaks to sit
down. We relaxed outside and I asked her if she wanted to answer some trivia
questions. We just did a few and quit cause she ‘didn’t care’. I’m still trying
to figure out things that she may like to do when we can’t go for walks. I want
to keep her occupied. She had a dentist appointment at 2:00. We had some lunch
outside and then walked over to her appointment. When we got back, Peter was
home. Mary was resting on the chair in the living room when I left.

I didn't go over today. I hope Mary had a nice Labor Day

Mary had a dentist apt today. We walked over to the dentist
and then went on another walk afterwards. There was a dog that got our interest
on the way to the dentist’s. It got hit by a car and everyone was out looking
for it. They found it and it got taken to the vets. She has an apt for

Peter was helping Elise for soccer today. I came over later
in the afternoon. We talked and visited. Molly hung out with us too :) We were talking about maps so I took a
piece of paper and had her draw me the floor plan of the house. She was really
into it for a long time, talking about the house and the neighbors and even
going outside to look around. It was a fun day. I fixed us some dinner and we
visited and then she got ready for bed.

Today we went to Liberty Park. I thought it would be a nice
change. We walked all the way around the park with a little detour ;) It was a
nice day and a nice walk. :) We sat and watched the ducks at the pond before we left.

We went for another walk at Sugar House Park after Mary was
dressed and ready. We made it all the way around. It was a nice and over cast
day with a nice little breeze. She was telling me the way back to the house and
then we went inside and got her something to eat and drink. We went back
outside, picked tomatoes and then just sat out by the house and talked about
the neighbors.

Mary showed me the way to Sugar House Park today. We walked
around the park with a couple of breaks and then came back to the house, sat
outside and visited. She has some amazing
stories :) I
found out that she used to work at NASA. Smart lady.
Monday August 18, 2014
Today was my first day meeting Mary. She’s a nice lady with
a nice family. We just talked today and I got to know her a little bit. Peter
left for a bit and I stayed and talked with her while he was gone. I’ll be
coming back on Wednesday.
She wanted to go for a drive. We went for a little drive and ended up at Donner park. She wanted to stay in the car but I mentioned I'd never been there before and it looked like a nice park. It was ;) We went for a walk and could see the city below. She was saying how big the city really looks and how pretty the mountains are and how we can sometimes take them for granted. We were watching a dog and she said "I wonder what a dogs life is like". It was really peaceful at the park with lots of birds and a few people out walking their dogs. 
Sugarhouse Park and then she wanted to go for a walk around the neighborhood too! When we got back from our walk, she left with Peter to go to the park again. It was a really nice day to be out and about.
